I.C. engine $1,500-11. carburetor $ 90- 12. starter $100- 13. guages $60- 14. caps radiator/Gas $ 20- 15. transmission $ 500- clutch $ 75
TOTAL: $ 3,260.00
1. remove I.C. engine $ 700- 2. gages $ 100-3. electric motor $ 1,200- 4. batteries $ 2 400- 5. conversion cost $ 1,600- 6. miscllaneous $ 500-7. charger $ 450
COST TO OPERATE GAS CAR 6 YEARS:$ 12,210.00 based on $ 4.00 per gallon and not counting rising gas price.

That’s very interesting data. It looks like a net gain of about $3K-$4K over the six years. But getting off of gas? Well, as the Mastercard ad says, that’s priceless!

Haha, that is so right. Getting off of gas is the most priceless thing of all. The environment needs our help to stay alive and thriving!

One thing that you will learn when working on your own car, or buying car parts is about the “core charge”. Basically, when you buy certain car parts like brake rotors, alternators, brake calipers, distributors and even engines they have a “core” - in reality all of these parts are made of many valuable components and even though some aspect has failed, this doesn’t mean the whole part is junk. The core charge is basically like a bottle deposit, but in this case, its a car part deposit that encourages you to recycle! So when you swap the new part for the old, you return the core and it goes back to the part manufacturer for rebuilding and recycling.
