Wheeled travel has always been more efficient than simple walking. If you are not a skateboarder yourself, think back to everyone you might have seen skateboarding. In between the tricks that many people think of as examples of skateboard culture, skateboarders tend to get where they want to go, and do so quickly.
So, any look at electric vehicles wouldn’t be complete unless we took a look at electric skateboards. As vehicles to convert go, electric skateboards are both simple and challenging. While the skateboard itself is flat and seems ideal for working with mounting additional equipment, arranging it all so that the skateboard is still balanced and is propelled evenly can be a challenge.
However, let’s take a look at some of the pre-made electric skateboards that you can buy. One of the more interesting providers of electric skateboards is Exkate Boards. These boards are longer than some skateboards that you might have seen, ranging from around 36-40 inches in length. The range of their models differs, but runs to approximately 10 miles. The acceleration on these boards are truly impressive. The Exkate Raptor 4.0 can accelerate from 0-15 miles per hour in 4 seconds. The brakes on the Raptor are also quite impressive, taking the board from 15 miles per hour to a full stop within 40 feet. All Exkate models use rechargeable batteries. However, the most fascinating feature of Exkate electric skateboards are the controls. Obviously, for any electric vehicle you need to control acceleration and braking. With Exkate model electric skateboards, control of the skateboard is managed through a wireless, fully-functional control that can be held in your hand as your ride. It is both a clever and stylish way to deal with the control issue.
So, the next time you see a skateboarder winding their way through a crowd on the sidewalk, remember that you too can roll along, and can do it far easier than you had ever imagined!

Hey!
I just checked out The Rasmus new Fan Page on Facebook where you can play the latest tunes from the BLACK ROSES album…
The fifth song “Your Forgiveness” is so much better than the “Livin’ In A World Without You” single… don’t you agree?
I know everyone has different tastes and all, but seriously,
the fifth song definitely sounds better than the first!
Listen (and become a fan) here:
